Redefining Menopause Africa (RMA) is a movement on a mission to change the menopause narrative in South Africa and Africa. This is done through various initiatives, from community awareness drives to workshops in corporate companies, partnering with institutions of higher education, engaging with churches, collaborating with radio, TV, print media and podcasts. RMA’s distinguishing factor is the ability to simplify menopause in different South African languages.

The founder, Xoli Madlala, went into premature menopause in her 30s. This allows her to bring relatability to engagements. She also penned The Perimenopausal Globetrotter, which openly shares her experience and includes academia, random musings and open letters. She is also a TEDx Speaker on the subject and has garnered accolades for her work.
